Course Objectives At the end of this course students; understand the importance of doing scientific research in the nursing profession, do basic statistical analyzes, evaluate critically research is intended to know the basic concepts and methods in epidemiology.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Understand the place and importance of research in nursing,
  • Critically evaluate research article in line with basic principles,
  • Understand the ethical principles in research,
  • Analyze research data,
  • Create graphs and tables of analysis results,
  • Analyze the findings obtained after the analysis
  • Define epidemiology and basic concepts in epidemiology,
  • Evaluate where, when and how to use epidemiological methods.
Course Description This course covers; Critical evaluation of the quantitative research report, basic statistical concepts, introduction of research data, summarization of data, statistics and probability, hypothesis testing, description of epidemiology , criteria and regulation used in epidemiology, descriptive epidemiology, concept of causality, experimental epidemiology, epidemiology of infectious diseases, epidemiology of non-communicable diseases and epidemiology of accident epidemiology.
